EfficiNet X Exhibited at the Japan Mobility Show 2023!

On November 4 and 5, we presented the concept of the Physical Internet at the Japan Mobility Show and unveiled a demonstration version of the system.

Leveraging cutting-edge machine learning and optimization algorithms, EfficiNet X will continue developing the foundational technologies needed for the logistics infrastructure of the future.


About the Demonstration (Video)

We are developing algorithms for the Physical Internet, which improves logistics efficiency at every stage by seamlessly combining different types of mobility—including drones, trucks, and delivery robots—with distinct capabilities.

In the video, the red dot represents a drone, the orange dot represents a delivery robot, and the blue dot represents a truck. Each type of mobility has the following characteristics:

  • Drone: Can travel quickly but cannot cover long distances
  • Delivery robot: Can navigate narrow roads but travels slowly
  • Truck: Can carry large volumes of cargo at once, but taking indirect routes can result in significant time loss

Taking these characteristics into account, we are developing algorithms that enable packages to be relayed between different modes of transport—for example, using a drone or delivery robot for one part of the journey and a truck for the next. This approach allows packages to be delivered within the required timeframe while minimizing energy consumption.
